Young Hearts, Run Free!

Yes, I’m back on the same soapbox, albeit from a very slightly different angle. The role of a Professional Dominatrix is a contradictory one. It’s often difficult for people – even within the industry and the BDSM lifestyle – to understand the concept of paying a woman to do what she wants, rather than what you want her to do.

A chap at Dommes.co.uk said this:

“While reading through profiles of pro dommes, not just here, but on many sites, it seems to me that the younger dommes, i.e. under 25 very often describe themselves as superior Goddesses and that us subs are worthless pieces of shit etc and not worthy of their time… These younger dommes need to remember that it`s the “worthless pieces of shit” who pay their wages and give them the lifestyle that they wish for…”

Newbies in the industry often start out by presenting themselves through conventional Pro-Domme adverts and websites with sexy galleries and stock phrases. It can take a while for the fledgling Domme to be comfortable enough not to have to hide behind a stereotype. I’m pretty sure we all go through that process at the beginning. I know I did.

However, isn’t it a Domme’s prerogative to be, do and say whatever she chooses? We dominate. That’s what we do. If we jumped through hoops just because a stranger waved a wad of cash in our direction, our Domme credentials would be somewhat redundant. We choose our own lifestyle, we choose which clients we think we’ll be compatible with, and we ultimately choose who pays our wages. If this isn’t what you’re looking for, then perhaps you’d be more comfortable with the stereotypical “hooker with a whip“.

“There are many that I have liked the look of from their galleries, but when I read their self description,it puts me off and they have lost a possible client.”

So you liked their faces, tits, and arses, but weren’t keen on their personalities or their collective lack of willingness to please you. Ah well. I’m sure they’ll be devastated to learn that they lost such a catch.

Suffering for my art

Not me suffering for my art, of course. That would just be silly.

During a session last week, a gent mentioned his fascination with the idea of his pain being the subject of – even the reason for – a work of art. This is something I appreciate. I like it when a masochist’s agony becomes a gift to me. I sometimes tell my subs to think of their cries as sacred offerings to the Goddess Sekhmet. After all, isn’t seeing a Dominatrix just the modern equivalent of the worship of – and sacrifice to – the archetype of a fiery, destructive, all-powerful female deity? I like to let my lioness out to play every so often. I’m sure it’s healthier than trying, and inevitably failing, to be a full-time kitten.

Anyway, as a result of the session, a number of photos were taken. Here’s a suitably anonymous one. Click the thumbnail to enlarge.

Bard Stiff

Oh. Oh dear. The Daily Mail has posted an article about my friend’s ex on “Britain’s Got More Talent”. Displaying their usual standard of journalistic accuracy, they’ve managed to get the one basic premise of the act – who is doing the reciting and who is doing the spanking – completely wrong. Still, they’ve also included four large photos so that Middle England can have an outraged wank over them:

Britain’s Got Talent: Is spanking really an acceptable form of family entertainment?

She may be reading the Bard’s work, but there was nothing classic about this audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

A pair calling themselves High Shakespeare performed an act consisting of a woman quoting Shakespeare as she was spanked by her co-star.

But whether it was acceptable family entertainment is another matter.

The act of spanking is more often known as a sexual fetish, infamously indulged in by former Formula One boss Max Mosley.

But the audition will be seen on Britain’s Got More Talent, a show aimed at the family audience, tomorrow night. Even the show’s host gets in on the act, pulling up the woman’s dress to spank her behind.”
