It turns out that we Dominatrices have a day of our own now. Mothers, fathers, presidents, secretaries and a host of patron saints have been celebrated on their respective dates for years, so I suppose it was inevitable that we’d be allocated one in the end – though it could be a while before Hallmark bring out a range of commemorative Femdom Day cards.
I received an email from a mysterious stranger this evening, telling me all about a number of meetings, lectures and parties taking place on Saturday 24th July at locations around the world. As well as events in Europe and the USA, there will be celebrations on the SecondLife website, including a picnic in a “virtual Hyde Park”. Meanwhile, we Londoners will have to make do with the real Hyde Park – congregating by the Diana Memorial at 3pm on the 24th if you’re interested.
“Private and public meetings of dominant women and submissive men, sumbmissive trans or submissive women,” says the website. “It’s a way of love, it’s safe, sane and consensual. For some it has a psychological dimension, others feel it’s eroticism, for some it’s derived from female power or spirituality.”
