LonDominant, aka Sir Stephen – the male Pro-Dom, lifestyle kinkster, thrower of the most thrilling parties, and all-round marvellous chap – has started a blog! Here’s an excerpt from today’s entry about his own experiences going pro:
“…I was recently separated from my long-term partner, and was being very bachelor-like, enjoy quite a lot of kinky bdsm sex with some very pretty pervy girls. One of them simply asked me
“Why don’t you go pro?”
Well – I’d never thought of it to be honest. I didn’t really need a job, I had one, I wasn’t really going to be in it for the money. And besides who would pay, it isn’t really a supply constrained market.
Her argument was something like this:
1. You’re good at this (blushes, why thank you);
2. You’re young(ish), fit, successful, competent, confident, intelligent;
3. There are a lot of ‘unkowns’ for sub girls (esp new ones), it’s very risky. And most of the people (the Twue Doms) one meets via the internet can be a bit scary/weird/smelly;
4. You’re trusted – people know who you are, you get out and about on the scene.
So I did. And I was far more successful than I expected – initially I took on most session requests but eventually settled into a rhythm of being quite selective. My rates are reasonable, and I tend to invest back into the world of kink, through new kit and toys, going out to fet clubs etc.
There are relatively few male pro Doms out there. Those that want to do it for a living end up having to see guys to make up the money – in fact its mostly guys. I was in the position of doing it for fun, but being fairly compensated for my time, skills, experience etc.
An interesting consequence of going pro that I wasn’t expecting was the ‘accessibility’ offered to newcomers to kink. And I do genuinely feel like I’m doing a good deed for the kink scene by providing this opportunity to explore kink safely, in trusted hands.
So why go pro? Because someone asked me to, and it was a good idea.”
