Popular pornographer Anna Span is now turning to politics. Last year, the managing director of adult studio “Easy on the Eye” fought the BBFC over its censorship of female ejaculation, and now she’s fighting for a seat in Parliament. Having previously produced such titles as “Uniform Behaviour” and “Pound a Punnet”, Span’s style appeals to many female viewers as well as porn’s more traditional male audience. Eschewing her pseudonym, the thirty-eight year old Liberal Democrat is to stand as the prospective parliamentary candidate for Gravesham in Kent under her real name, Anna Arrowsmith. Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg told GMTV that Mrs Arrowsmith was not a “cardboard cut-out Westminster politician” – and after Parliament’s recent expenses scandals and the sight of Nick Griffin’s gurning face on Question Time, that’s definitely a good thing. Anna Span, we applaud you!

p.s. I very nearly appeared alongside Anna Span on Current TV a couple of years ago (sadly I wasn’t available on the day that they were filming) and have *ahem* strongly appreciated her work over the years. She really is bloody brilliant and I recommend that, if you’re eligible, give her your vote and/or site subscription. If you’re on Twitter, go and follow her – @annaarrowsmith.
