Bayonetta

Well, we’ve all seen the adverts: a latex-clad assassin called Bayonetta who spends a lot of her time strutting around, wiggling her bum and getting off on her own violence… Could this be my introduction to the world of compulsive video gaming? Quite possibly! This does sound like the sort of game I could play until my fingers are red raw and I haven’t slept in days – though it could also turn out to be a bit of a busman’s holiday for me. Is a Domme’s unpixellated life really so different?

Here’s an excerpt from Jordan Deam’s review for The Escapist:

“Ultraviolence: A term derived from the 1962 novel A Clockwork Orange denoting unjustified and stylistically excessive violence.

BDSM: A compound acronym referring to the sexual practices of bondage and discipline or, more generally, the gratification of sadistic and/or masochistic impulses.

As a gamer, you’ve no doubt encountered plenty of the former; and as an internet user you’ve probably stumbled into material relating to the latter more than once, intentionally or not. But never, in my extensive experience, have these two practices been synthesized so completely and with such as much abandon as they have in Bayonetta. It’s an intriguing feast for the senses that, thankfully, also happens to be a f**king blast to play.”
