Is getting spooshed in the moosh a sin against the sisterhood? Last year, Bitch Magazine published an article about the recent rise of the facial, an act popularised and – in some cases – inspired by mainstream porn. Its author Becky Sharper is concerned that the regular sight of cum-spattered females will eventually warp the sexual expectations of young people, preventing women from being treated with the respect they deserve.
Of course, having someone jizz in your face can certainly be degrading but, like most activities associated with dominance and submission, it all depends on context and consent. All too often, turn-ons can get a little confusing. Sexual fantasy and socio-political reality don’t necessarily have to match where role-play is involved. In the world of kink, the power balance between genders can be entirely different inside the bedroom than outside it… and we shouldn’t forget that women can squirt too!
Fetish performer Madison Young has now begun a campaign to reclaim the facial. On the blog “Making Waves in Feminism, One Anal Scene at a Time”, she makes the case that receiving a semen splashing isn’t at all antithetical to her own Feminist ideals. “This is an intimate sexual play to be fluid bonded,” Young says. “Porn can be Feminist. Porn can be educational, inspire couples, save sex lives, undo some of the sexual repression and body image issues that women grow up with, document our sexual culture, capture chemistry, create visibility for alternative sexual beings, create connection and dialogue around sex between partners, create connection and reduce isolation around fetishes.”
Right on, sister! I propose that we go one step further and actively seek out porn where women ejaculate into the faces of men, just to keep the internet in sexual equilibrium. Suggestions are welcome!
