Gender is a curious thing.

Traditionally, there is a stigma attached to the idea of subverting the social norms of femininity and – perhaps far more so – masculinity. Men can experience intense emotions when faced with anything that might challenge perceptions of their own maleness. Some men are appalled at the idea of doing anything that strays from the gender norm. Some are sexually aroused by it. Many are both.

It could be something as inconsequential as him secretly wearing frilly pink underwear to work under his business suit. Or else, going to extremes, he could be exposed to the internet, dressed in a tutu, lipstick, fake boobs and a chastity device whilst being mocked for the size of his genitalia, anally violated with a root vegetable and forced to fellate a fireman.

Either way, to emasculate or even feminise a man can cause powerful and unexpected reactions. This is why Ms Slide enjoys it so much.

As for the way she presents her own gender, it changes on a whim. Ms Slide could don a strap-on and a swagger and knock down anyone or anything that got in her way, or else glide sinuously, dangerously, between tables, fluttering her eyelashes and taking down foes with the lightest, most sensitive touch. We all have aspects of both male and female inside us, and of every shade between. They’re all fun to play with.
