More and more women are baring their furry friends for the welfare of our furry friends. Animal rights organisation PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) have often courted controversy in their bids to raise awareness over cruelty in the food, clothing and entertainment industries, and this year is no exception. After previous campaigns involving scantily clad and nude models, they’ve now launched the 2010 State of the Union Undress. For this annual event, PETA’s website features footage of beautiful women making hard-hitting speeches about the mistreatment of animals whilst stripping entirely naked. This year, it’s the turn of LA based actor Marissa Lewis to take the stage. After informing us about the progress PETA has made since the beginning of 2009, Lewis reveals herself in all her full-frontal glory and encourages viewers to go vegetarian. Many people have criticised PETA for using graphic nudity to publicise their campaigns, but nobody can deny that it’s been effective. Undoubtedly, Lewis and her many naked predecessors have convinced a lot of people to – ahem – beat the meat and help a good cause.
