Being Human

As I’ve mentioned previously, society is conditioned to think of any woman working in the trade of titillation as a brainless whore. I’ve encountered this assumption many times in the “real” world. It’s an inevitable reaction much of the time.

If we dare to present ourselves as fantasy figures in any sense, the general consensus is that we must barely even be sentient beings at all, just a series of orifices and tits, giggling, cock-hungry fuck machines, whip-wielding drones, or any of the other cartoon sexual stereotypes that those we’ve never met would prefer us to fit. Suddenly we are bimbos. We’re monosyllabic, spray-tanned gold-diggers. We’re available and desperate. We’re meat. The way women in professions such as mine are viewed genuinely sickens me.

It therefore warms my cockles when people in the sex industry reveal themselves as the intelligent, articulate, and utterly three-dimensional human beings that they are. On that note, read this fascinating blog post by glamour model Rebekah Dee.
