Tasmanian scientists recently discovered a jellyfish who’s a dickhead. This entirely new species was found in the River Derwent in Hobart, and although the creature is only a few millimetres wide, it proves that size isn’t everything by wearing its sex organs in a crown-like cluster at its peak. “It’s absolutely different from every other jellyfish that’s ever been known,” said Dr Lisa-Ann Gershwin who made the discovery. As if the new species didn’t have enough to be embarrassed about already, it has been named “medusa medeopolis” which roughly translates as “its got a city of gonads on its head!”
