Occasionally, there will be something in an internet grumble-flick that distracts, yet entices. Today’s offering from Chanta’s Bitches intrigues me for two important reasons: The first, of course, is that there are two naked women playing with electricity – having broken two tens machines myself, and spent a lot of time getting acquainted with Violet Wands and their various attachments, I understand the allure of electro-BDSM, both as a stimulant to a person’s assorted body parts and to my own imagination; However, the second reason that this video stands out, is that the entire scene appears to take place in a burnt-out studio set. Derelict buildings fascinate me. It’s probably something to do with Catholic guilt that I relate broken, degraded surroundings to sex, but I tend to be drawn to scenarios in collapsing cellars, abandoned warehouses, and all the sorts of places that don’t so much resemble a love nest but a crime scene. So, just as long as you keep that grim Julie Walters “Pull Your Finger Out” advert out of your mind, the charred backdrop definitely adds something to the atmosphere and brings up a lot of questions. When was the fire? Did they notice? How did it start?
